|  This Normand style house had whitewashed walls, with a brightly-coloured painted cedar plank roof. The coloured roof helped our ancestors identify their homes upon returning from a hunting trip or an excursion on the river, especially in wintertime. |  Hand painted memo pad |  The rooster has long been recognized as nature's alarm clock-craking the morning silence withits familiar song.
